Providers

Four people, and you will meet one of them.

Both physicians trained in dermatology at the University of Minnesota, and they still consult each other on cases in the hallway.

Maryam Moinfar, M.D.

Board-certified dermatologist

Dr. Moinfar leads the practice in Dana Point and is an Orange County native. She took her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology at UC Berkeley, graduating with honors, and her medical degree at Northwestern University Medical School, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.

Her clinical work is skin cancer treatment and prevention, surgical dermatology and cosmetic dermatology, including Silhouette InstaLift, a non-surgical alternative to a facelift. She is the dermatologist other physicians come to when they need treatment themselves, and she mentors the next generation of them locally.

She is accepting new patients.

  • Diplomate, American Board of Dermatology
  • Member, American Academy of Dermatology
  • Member, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery
  • Named Woman of the Year in Medicine and Healthcare, 2009

Jeffrey K. Lander, M.D., Ph.D.

Board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon

Dr. Lander heads the Mohs micrographic surgery department. He is a native of Southern California, took his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at UC Irvine, and completed medical school and his dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota — followed by a further year of fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.

That fellowship is why skin cancer surgery and the reconstruction afterwards both happen in this office. Patients describe his manner as calming, which matters more on the day of surgery than it sounds on a website.

He is accepting new patients and referrals.

Madeline Fee, PA-C

Certified physician assistant

Madeline is an Orange County native who read Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley, volunteering with Rotary International while she was there, then took her Master of Health Science at the Duke University School of Medicine — the top-ranked physician assistant program in the country — where she graduated at the top of her class.

She is a familiar face here: before Duke she spent five years at this practice as a medical assistant, training under Dr. Moinfar. Outside work she hikes, dances and travels.

She is accepting new patients.
